Masters of Contemporary Glass

Andrew Madvin: A Maker Shaped by Curiosity & Craft

Born near Detroit in 1977, Andrew Madvin discovered his passion for craftsmanship at a young age, first earning national recognition in metals and jewelry before finding his true artistic voice in glass. Drawn to the energy and expressive potential of molten glass, he continued his studies at renowned institutions including the College for Creative Studies, California College of the Arts, and Pilchuck Glass School. In 2000, he founded Axiom Glass Studio, a 10,000-square-foot creative space dedicated to innovation and artistic exploration. Today, Andrew is celebrated for his emotionally rich, nature-inspired glass sculptures—works collected nationally and internationally for their depth, movement, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Danielle Blade & Stephen Gartner :Timeless Sculptural Vision

The partnership of Danielle Blade and Stephen Gartner, has been crafting extraordinary glass art since 1996. Their work blends ancient symbolism, ritualistic forms, and natural inspiration to create sculptural vessels that feel both timeless and contemporary. Drawing on elements like bone, wood, vine, and stone, they shape organic forms defined by flowing lines, tactile surfaces, and an earthy, refined palette. With Danielle’s deep lineage in glassmaking and Stephen’s innovative sculptural training, they merge traditional glassblowing with inventive techniques to form a signature style recognized worldwide. At Artisans of New York, we are honored to present their visionary creations—pieces that embody craftsmanship, cultural resonance, and the enduring beauty of glass art.
